Finding Running Shoes

April 1st, 2012 | Exercise

Do I go with pretty or practical? Should I be concerned with how they look or how they feel? Such a tough decision I will be facing in the days ahead. I plan on purchasing a new pair of running shoes. I think I’ve logged enough miles, pounded enough pavements, and stepped on enough surfaces to say a fond farewell to my old sneakers. It’s time that I graduate to the next level of seeking a shoe that will help with my performance (I sound serious now). Where do I begin? I’ve been doing some research and it appears I have way too many choices (I’m dazed and confused). There are so many brands, types, colors, and price points that I’ve been inundated with images and “best rated” lists. When I decided on my last pair (2 years ago) I wasn’t even involved in running at that time, and I just went for what was on sale. Now I will be faced with support, cushion, and function (sounds like something I will need as an “old” person, sorry Mom). Wish me luck as I search for my perfect running shoe. Keep healthy and fit by letting go of the old and finding the perfect new!

Good luck!! You’re right…there are so many choices…maybe too many!
I’d say support & comfort fist & if they happen to be cute that’s a bonus.

Joanie- now that you are serious about running, you must go for comfort and protection first. Otherwise you will have ankle problems or foot problems. There are plenty of products out there but safety must come first. Bobby
