Now is the time to find homegrown fruits and vegetables at the market in the produce aisle. Usually in the winter I am purchasing them from Mexico, South America or a tropical island where they tend to be pricey because of the geographical distance. This is the season to enjoy local fruits and vegetables that are plentiful, delicious and healthy. Last night I made a wonderful fruit salad that consisted of fruits from the US. Strawberries, green grapes, peaches and mangoes adorned my bowl with great flavor and juiciness. Have a bowl of fresh fruit as your dessert or breakfast fare! Keep healthy and fit by supporting your local farmers.
P.S. I always squeeze fresh lemon over my salad to prevent brownness and to keep it moist.
